Jewellery Care

Each piece of jewellery is lovingly hand created making it unique and great pride is taken in maintaining an extremely high quality of hand made products.

To keep your jewellery looking it’s best, care should be taken to avoid direct contact with hair and skin products, perfumes and household chemicals. All jewellery should be removed before showering and swimming so as not to cause damage or discolouration.

Jewellery can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a very soft toothbrush then rinse thoroughly and dry well.

Use a lint-free cloth to keep polished jewellery looking shiny.

One characteristic of silver is the tendency to develop a layer of black tarnish on the surface. This is a layer of silver sulphide and is caused by sulphurous compounds in the air and in human perspiration. Tarnishing is usually easily removed by polishing with a silver polishing cloth.

Tarnishing caused by oxidisation can occur when silver comes into contact with chemicals such as cleaning products, perfumes and chlorine in swimming pools, this can be more difficult to remove and may require proffessional polishing by a jeweller.
